Next to 2D section and 3D orbit the canvas has a third view, VR/AR. Open a live view (conventional, phased array or ToFD), click VR/AR and scan the QR code with the camera of a phone or a headset. The device asks for its camera, you point it at a flat table top and tap: the part appears on the table with the probe on it, the beam and the test reflectors.
Drag the probe along the part surface (touch on a phone, pinch with the hand on a Meta Quest) and the A-scan on the floating panel follows. Grab the panel to put it beside the part. Changes made in the workbench while the popover is open, such as another angle, a moved reflector or another method, reach the device within a few seconds. Stop sharing ends it; a code is valid for 24 hours.
Android phones and Meta Quest use WebXR with surface detection. iPhone and iPad have no WebXR in Safari: there the part is placed by a tap and stays put as the phone turns, but walking around it is not tracked. Joint sections (T, corner, nozzle, offset) are not shared yet. The device shows the part at the scale you choose; it is at true size only at scale 1.
